THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE QUALITY KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT AND ORGANIZATIONAL PERFORMANCE VIA THE MEDIATING ROLE OF ORGANIZATIONAL LEARNING

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between the quality knowledge management and organizational performance as mediated by organizational learning. A questionnaire survey was used to collect data from a sample of 300 employees working at Royal Jordanian Airlines Company. The questionnaire was developed based on past researches, i.e., knowledge management was measured using 12 items, organizational learning was evaluated by 12 items while organizational performance was assessed via 8 items. Structural equation modeling (SEM) via The Analysis of Moment Structures, i.e., IBM AMOS 22 was used in hypotheses testing. The results showed that knowledge management has a positive direct impact on both organizational learning and organizational performance. Organizational learning has a positive direct effect on organizational performance. Furthermore, the results pointed out a significant indirect impact of knowledge management on organizational performance via organizational learning. To the best of the authors' knowledge, the relations included in this study have not, up to date, been investigated in aviation industry. Finally, leaders should motivate their followers to acquire more knowledge from different sources, which if practiced successfully, will support the organizational learning environment. Future research may examine these variables in another industry, context.
