CITIZENS' SATISFACTION WITH MUNICIPAL HYGIENE IN RIJEKA AND POSSIBILITIES FOR IMPROVING MUNICIPAL MANAGEMENT

Abstract: The aim of this paper is to determine the level of satisfaction of citizens of the city of Rijeka (Republic of Croatia) with the quality of municipal services and to identify opportunities for improving the municipal management. The purpose of the paper is to strengthen the municipal management in the city of Rijeka and the Republic of Croatia. The research was conducted on a sample of N=430 residents of the City of Rijeka, and the collected data are analysing using descriptive and inferential statistical methods. The research confirmed a low level of citizen satisfaction with the city's cleanliness, regardless of gender or professional qualifications. Citizens were equally dissatisfied with both the maintenance hygiene of waste bins and containers and the price of cleaning services, while the waste disposal culture among residents of Rijeka was found to be at a very low level.
