Call for Special Issues
The International Journal for Quality Research welcomes proposals for Special Issues on timely and relevant topics within the broad field of quality research, quality management, engineering, and related disciplines.
What is a Special Issue?
A Special Issue is a collection of papers focused on a specific, well-defined theme that is of high current interest. It is usually guest-edited by one or more recognized experts in the field. Special Issues help highlight emerging topics, present cutting-edge research, and attract high-quality submissions.
Topics of Interest
We encourage proposals on any topic related to quality that has strong potential for impact. Examples include (but are not limited to):
- Quality 4.0 and digital transformation
- Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Quality Management
- Sustainable quality and circular economy
- Industry 5.0 and human-centric quality systems
- Big data analytics for quality improvement
- Quality in healthcare, education, or services
- Standards, certification, and regulatory compliance
- Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement
How to Propose a Special Issue
Proposals should be submitted by email to editor@ijqr.org (or the current editorial email) with the subject line: Special Issue Proposal.
The proposal should include the following information:
- Title of the proposed Special Issue
- Guest Editor(s) – names, affiliations, short bios, and contact information
- Short description / rationale (300–500 words)
- Objectives and expected contribution
- List of potential topics
- Estimated number of papers
- Proposed timeline (submission deadline, review process, publication date)
Review Process for Proposals
All Special Issue proposals will be reviewed by the Editorial Board. Approved proposals will receive full support from the journal’s editorial team for promotion, paper handling, and publication.
Important: All papers submitted to Special Issues undergo the same rigorous peer-review process as regular submissions and must meet the journal’s high quality standards.

This special issue of the International Journal for Quality Research aims to bring together cutting-edge research and real-world insights from academia, industry, and policy-making to advance sustainable quality management.
